John: And the topic of today show is prodigies. Ok Clare, so what could you do when you were five years old? Were you a genius musician?

Clare: A genius musician? Um…no.

John: Ah, well maybe when you were ten, you were an expert mathematician or a great writer perhaps?

Clare: When I was ten, definitely not. I still can’t do maths now.

John: Right, well, don’t worry. That means you are probably a normal child.

Clare: Yes!

John: But we’re not talking about normal children today. Prodigies are children who can do amazing things when they’re very young. Like this for example. (Sound)

Clare: Let me guess. Mozart?

John: Correct! The composer Mozart who composed and played piano and violin when he was five. Most kids can’t read until they’re six. Mozart wrote this piece of music when he was eight.

Clare: Wow! What about the pictures then? Any ideas?

John: Yes! This one’s by Leonardo da Vinci.

Clare: Yes, that’s right. And we all know that Leonardo was a genius. But did you know he couldn’t spell very well?

John: Ah, that’s interesting! So, geniuses have problems, too. What about the other painting? Is that boy – the artist?

Clare: Yes, his name is Kieron Williamson, and he painted this when he was ten.

John: It’s beautiful. How much is his painting?

Clare: That one is £22,000.

John: Really?

Clare: Yes. And when Kieron was ten years old, he already had 1.5 million pounds from his art.

John: Ten years old, and he had 1.5 million pounds? He can’t spend all that money!

Clare: Maybe you can help him, John!

John: Good idea!
