As I’m waking up early in the morning at 7 a.m, I am overlooking the beautiful ocean from the terrace (let’s say in San Diego or Florianapolis in Brazil). I feel energized, awake and ready to take on the world, because I know that this will be an amazing day. I get dressed quickly and walk into the kitchen in my beach condo, drink a glass of lime water before I head out for my daily morning run, and some awesome surfing. I look out of the window again, the waves are just perfect, what a fantastic day, and there’s not a single person at the beach. It will be just me, my thoughts and my surfboard catching the perfect waves.
I go for a quick run at the beach and I feel blessed that I can do this every day if I feel like it. Then I grab my surfboard, walk towards the ocean. The waves are still perfect. Just a few clouds on the sky, but nothing will stop me today. I feel unstoppable and I know that this will be the first time I catch a really big wave. And of course I do, after some trial error I catch the perfect wave which takes me all the way in again. What a great feeling!
After my daily run and surfing for about 1,5 hours, I head back to my beach condo where my beautiful girlfriend is now waiting for me. She has already prepared some healthy breakfast for us with all kind of fruits, like mango, cantaloup, passion fruit, pineapple, oranges, kiwi and some other exotic fruits. She knows that I just love fresh fruit in the morning. We decide to make a smoothie as well, feels great after exercising to get an energy boost like this.
When breakfast is over, I go outside to sit on the terrace while going through my to-do list for the day. While I love doing all this fun and adventurous stuff, I am so passionate about what I do for a living, so it doesn’t really feel like work. There’s no better feeling in the world than helping other people achieve their dreams and biggest aspirations in life. I respond to a few emails, maybe a fun coaching call, and possibly interview and inspiring entrepreneur for my show The Lifestyle Architect.
As I’m sitting outside on the terrace, writing yet another (hopefully) epic, helpful and inspiring blog post, I start to think of everything I’ve accomplished and how many people I’ve inspired to do extraordinary things and don’t settle for mediocrity. I smile, and I think that a perfect day is not only about yourself, rather it’s also about how you can give back and help other people do the same by improving their lives to the better.
Now it’s around 3 p.m in the afternoon and I go to meet up a few really good friends at the beach. We’re playing beach soccer. It feels great, the sand is just perfect and I’m in a good mode. Over the last few months I have trained really hard so I’m in peak health and fitness and the best shape of my life. I score several goals within a few minutes, and after 2 hours, we decide to call it a day and my team won by a few goals.
I decide to stay for a little longer, and I go and grab my surfboard to hit the waves once again today. They are not as good as in the morning, but still challenging enough. Not a single cloud on the sky….I catch some nice waves and I see that people are looking at me like I’m crazy. But I don’t care. Nothing can stop me from living and do the things I desire the most. This is my life…and life is damn precious and I value my time here!
Then I get back home to my beach condo, getting ready for the night and meet up my incredibly beautiful and intelligent girlfriend to have some dinner at a nice Persian restaurant I’ve found nearby. I order Kebabe Soltani, and she orders Ghorme Sabzi. It’s the first time she tries Persian food, but I tell her that she can trust me. She does, and really enjoys her meal. Obviously it’s not the first time I eat persian food, but I actually enjoy this meal and it’s just great (even though it’s not my dad’s perfect Persian food of course). We talk a lot about how we both can live out our purpose every day and do what we love. We are thankful for all the people in our lives, and all the people we continue to inspire and help on a daily basis. She’s a lifestyle entrepreneur herself, and can travel and live wherever she wants. We’re both location independent…we choose freedom and loving it!
After dinner, we go for a walk on the beach, and watch the sunset together till we head back home to my beach condo…a perfect day just got even better. This is my perfect day!

Once being a basic food of farmers and poor families in Vietnam, com tam or broken rice is now a favourite dish of most Vietnamese. It is said that the best broken rice can be found in Saigon. When you come to Saigon, you should try this dish at least one time and you will not regret it.
Com tam literally means broken rice. Broken rice originally consisted of grains which were broken during the harvesting and cleaning of rice. Nowadays, often favored over long grain rice for its unique flavour and texture, broken rice is one of the best-loved fares in Vietnam.
Local broken rice eateries can practically be found on every street in Saigon. A broken rice dish is served with many beautiful colours from grilled pork chop with multi-flavour to steamed egg, shredded pork skin, pickles, vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers ... and especially sweet fish sauce that is the spirit of the dish.

Egg coffee, called Cà Phê Trứng in Vietnamese, was first invented by Nguyen Giang in 1946. There was a shortage of milk in Hanoi due to the French War. Mr. Nguyen reatively began adding whisked eggs to his coffee instead.
The original version was a bit, well, eggy. But over time the recipe was modified with the addition of sugar, condensed milk, and even Laughing Cow cheese. No one knows the recipe for sure since it’s a secret recipe. These days Egg Coffee is a staple of Hanoi coffee culture and a must-try while in Hanoi!
What does it taste like? Well it’s incredibly thick and rich and creamy. Closer to a dessert than a beverage. Liquid tiramisu is the most accurate description we’ve heard.
Nguyen Giang still has a café where you can try his famous recipe, or you can grab a cup of Egg Coffee at dozens of coffee shops all over Hanoi.
1. Who invented egg coffee?
2. Why did Nguyen Giang add whisked eggs to his coffee?
3. What is the recipe to make egg coffee nowadays?
4. What does egg coffee taste like?
5. Where can we buy this type of coffee?
