TOPIC: Talk about your favorite television program.
Among many programs and channels available on TV these days such as the current news programs, sport programs, entertaining programs, educational programs and movie programs, etc., I like the program "the World of Animals" most.
This program is usually shown on VTV2 everyday at 8.30 in the evening. It often lasts about 45 minutes. In this program, stories of the life of many animals in the world are told in a very lively way. For example, people can watch films about monkeys, snakes, tigers, insects, birds, sea turtles, sharks etc. ... and even the penguins and the polar bears in the far North. While watching these films, I find the everyday life activities and habits of these animals very interesting and full mysteries. In addition, I also learn that it is very important to protect these animals and their living environments became they are part of our valuable natural world. I do not watch TV that much but it is a great electronic and mass media for education and entertainment. Sometimes I watch TV, mostly in my free time and among the channels I watch, 'Discovery Channel' is my favourite one. Whenever I held the TV remote control in my hand, I look for either a news channel or Discovery channel. This is the channel I watch more often than any other channels. I watch it for 4-8 hours per week. On my day off, if I am in front of TV, I watch the great educational and recreational programs that this channel broadcasts.
It broadcasts mainly documentary programs focusing on popular science, technology and history. But recently they have started showing some other types of programs like reality shows and pseudo-technologies and entertainments. There are some unique programs that they present to their audiences like Myth Busters, Unsolved History, automobiles, and occupations etc. This channel started broadcasting from 1985 and has become one the most popular TV channels in the world because of their emphasis on high-quality programs.
I like this TV channel because of the programs and documentaries they present. Most of the programmes are thoroughly enjoyable and offer lots of information to the viewers. This is one of the great sources for me to learn history, technology and other educational knowledge. The picture quality is really nice and this channel is easily available via the cable service providers. I found this channel really interesting and I can learn many new things watching it.

I’m going to talk about “Who wants to be a millionaire”, one of my favorite TV shows ever.
As far as I can remember, it was originally a UK TV Game Show, and it made its first debut in Vietnam around 10 years ago.
This was kind of a quiz show in which contestants have to go through a set of 15 questions with increasing difficulty. The first 5 questions are pretty silly really, and they always give me and my family a good laugh. Contestants are given 4 lifelines to aid them with difficult questions, and most of them are usually used up when the contestant reaches around question 7 or 8. The entire show is a sea of knowledge. Many questions from different fields are asked, ranging from trivial things like ingredients needed to make cookies to academic stuff like quantum physics and archeology.
You know, I’m quite a curious man, so back when I was a high school kid, I hardly missed an episode. When the Internet became available in Vietnam, I started to watch the UK and US version as well, and knowledge acquired from those shows were really helpful to me in many of my high school knowledge quizzes.
