Read the passage carefully and choose the correct answer for these following questions.

FOOD AROUND THE WORLD

It isn't amazing how much time we spend talking about food? "Have you ever eaten ...?", "What do you have for lunch?" and so on. And yet, when you travel from one country to another, you find that people have quite different feelings about food. People often feel that what they eat is normal, and what other people eat is strange and silly. In most parts of Asia, for example, no meal is complete without rice. In England, people eat potatoes every day. In the Middle East, bread is the main part of every meal. Eating becomes a habit which is difficult to change. Americans like to drink a lot of orange juice and coffee. The English drink tea four or five times a day. Australians drink large amounts of beer and the French drink wine every day.

The sorts of meat people like to eat also differ from one country to another. Horse meat is thought to be delicious in France. In Hong Kong, some people enjoy eating snakes. New Zealanders eat sheep, but never eat goat meat. The Japanese don’t like to eat sheep meat because of its smell, but they enjoy eating raw fish. So it seems that although eating is a topic that we can talk about for hours, there is a little common sense in what we say about it. People everywhere enjoy what they have always eaten, and there is very little we can do to change our eating habit.

Question 22. What is the main idea of the text?

A. People have the same feelings about food.

B. People think about food differently.

C. People think that no meal is perfect without rice.

Question 23. According to the writer, where is bread the main food?

A. In Asia

B. In Japan

C. In Middle East

Question 24. Which of these people drink wine every day?

A. Americans

B. Australians

C. The French

Question 25. Which is popular food in Japan?

A. Fish

B. Horse meat

C. Goat meat

Question 26. How does the writer conclude about our eating habit?

A. Our eating habit is difficult to change.

B. People everywhere enjoy eating new food.

C. We can change our eating habit easily.

Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet to indicate the correct answer to each of the questions from 28 to 32.

It has been thought that women are the second class in citizen, and men are the first. There is not a real equality of opportunity for men and women. Years ago, people were living in a man-dominated society. Women had to obey their husbands and fathers absolutely. Women' s place was in the kitchen and women' s work was housework. In many places, women were not even allowed to go to school. Women had no rights, even the right to choose husband for themselves. Men usually occupied high positions in society so they thought they were more intelligent than women. Men often considered women as their property. Sometimes, they were mistreated by their husbands and suffered the problem as a fate. Many parents did not even want to have daughters.

Despite the progress, there remain outdated beliefs about women' s roles, traditionally passed down from generation to generation. Men are commonly seen as the strong bodies, bread-winners in the family and key leaders in society, while women are restricted to being housewives and child bearing and care, and housework such as washing and cooking.

According to social surveys, many women in the 21st century still have to work over 12 hours a day including working in offices and doing countless household chores without any help from their husbands. In some regions, the labor of women is not recognized despite the hardships they endure to support the whole family. Moreover, women are the direct victims of family violence, especially in rural areas.

Thanks to the women' s liberation movement, nowadays women have proved that they are equal to men in every aspect. An average woman has weaker muscles than an average man but she may be as intelligent as he is. Women can do everything that men can, and women can do one thing that no man can: they produce children.

A. was forced to change after the women's liberation movement

B. have been eradicated completely

C. still exist at present.

Question 32: According to the text, women in the 21st century ________.

Most people are afraid of sharks, but they usually do not know very much about them. There are more than 350 kinds of sharks, and all of them are meat eaters. Sharks are useful because they eat sick fish and keep the oceans clean. Sharks do not have ears. However, they can "hear" sounds and movements in the water. Any sound or movement makes the water vibrate. Sharks can feel these vibrations, which help them find food. They also use their large eyes to find food. Most sharks see best in dim light. They often hunt for food at dawn, in the evening, or in the middle of the night. Scientists want to learn more about sharks for several reasons. Exercise 6: Read the passage, and choose the best answer A, B, C or D for each question

A smart board is an interactive whiteboard. It can be connected to one or more laptops, PCs, tablets, or other electronic devices. Smart boards are extremely useful in a classroom because they can engage students, provide interactive opportunities that a traditional whiteboard, blackboard or flip chart can't, and can also develop students' computer skills along with their English skills.

Smart boards also have touch-screen technology so you do not actually need a computer to access the basic functionality. You can write on a smart board with special pens which are usually provided with the board, and anything written on the board can be saved for future reference, or printed out. It is great, for example, if you are doing a brainstorming session or a mind map with your classmates and you want to keep a record of it.

If you don't want to draw with the pens, you can use a keyboard and type onto a programme such as Word, and have it appear on the screen for everyone to see. This is great if you are doing an exercise with your class and you want everyone to be able to see the answers during the checking stage. You can also run PowerPoint presentations on an interactive whiteboard. These can sometimes be great for grammar or vocabulary presentations and the advantage of them is that students can make contributions.

If you have the Internet access, you can access websites and put them onto a white board. This is great in an English classroom if you have online quizzes or games you want to use. Students can actually come up to the board and select their answers. This involves them directly in the board work, which they usually love. You can also run video clips or sound files from the Internet, or some which are saved on your computer.

In short, a smart board can make the lessons more varied, and can give students a more active role in the lesson.

28. A smart board is more useful than a traditional board because__________.

D. teachers can engage students to have lessons
