1.1. Simple present tense with future meaning (thì hiện taị đơn để diễn tả tương lai)
- Thì hiện tại đơn dùng để diễn tả một sắp xếp rõ ràng cho sự việc trong tương lai. Trong câu thường có nhóm từ chỉ thời gian.
- Tom starts school on Monday. (Tom bắt đàu học vào thứ hai)
- Các sự kiện sẽ xảy ra trong tương lai theo thời khoá biểu.
- The film starts at 7 p.m. (Phim sẽ bắt đàu vào lúc 7 giờ tối)
1.2. Gerund (Danh động từ trong Tiếng Anh)

- Danh động từ làm chủ ngữ
- Swimming is good for health.
- Learning English is interesting.
- Danh động từ làm tân ngữ
- She likes cooking.
- Danh động từ làm tân ngữ của 'be'

- Can't help/ can't bear/ can't stand: không thể chịu đựng nổi
- It's (not) worth: (không) đáng giá
- It's no use: thật vô dụng
- It's no good: vô ích
- There's no point in: Chẳng có lý do gì/ lợi gì
- Have difficulty (in): Có khó khăn trong vấn đề gì
- A waste of money/ time: tốn tiền/ mất thời gian
- Be busy (with): bận rộn với cái gì
- Look forward to: trông mong, chờ đợi
- Be (get) used to: quen với cái gì
- Object to: phản đối
- Confess to: thú tội, nhận tội

b.3. Sau V + preposition, Adj + preposition hoặc Noun + preposition là V - ing.
- Accuse of (tố cáo),
- Suspect of (nghi ngờ),
- be fond of (thích),

- choice of (lựa chọn),
- reason for (lý do về)...
b.4. Những động từ sau đây theo sau là to V hoặc V - ing mà nghĩa không thay đổi: begin, like, can't stand, love, continue, prefer, start, hate, dread.

- Xin phép làm gì thường dùng với chủ ngữ I.
