TET in Vietnam was the big celebration for the country. In those days every village, the house, everyone off work and fun way to reunite. Tet there is a divinity and the opportunity to refresh everything. The day he finished the regular crops, the villagers made heaven and earth Thanksgiving. SPRING people share the joy of warm, giving each other gifts to wish one another a new year and everything is the custom and many other means.
Vietnamese people celebrate Tet with TET is a sacred trust on reunification, a new day, that day is a day of thanksgiving and hope.
Days of Being Together - SPRING is always on reunification of families. No matter who trade, work or attend school in the remote, they often try to save money and time to celebrate with the family. The TET celebrations spread from within the family, to relatives, to neighbors and to the village, where the first is the happy spring. Happy New Year! In February? Tét is a Vietnamese Lunar New Year. It is also celebrated by Chinese. This year, 2016 is the year of the monkey. Tét is on February 7th this year. I celebrate this at church. There are usually 5 groups that dance on stage. Au Nhi which are the younger kids, Thieu Nhi who are slightly older, Nghia Si which are the younger teenagers, Hiep Si which are the older teenagers, and finally Doi Truong which are the leaders and people in charge. I am in Thieu Nhi. There are also dragons that dance called Múa Lân. You can feed them money with fancy envolopes called Li Xi. The food we eat in Tét has a whole variety. But the main food we eat is Bánh Tét which is a roll that you cut with a string, sometimes bamboo, by twisting it around and pulling it until POP! It has meat inside and green sticky rice on the outside. It is wrapped with seaweed. Usually people wear a type of clothes for Tét. All boys, girls, men, and woman. It is called áo dài also known as long dress. Áo dài is very traditional. Lastly,there is usually someone who plays a specific beat on a giant drum when the Múa Lân come out. Tét is very fun and my favorite part about Tét is that I get to go on stage and dance with my Thieu Nhi friends. I can’t wait until Tét is here!
